Hahahaahahhahaaaah.... Hi smallwheeler, "apa kabar???"
Please man, all of you guys are very2 warm welcome...all of us back here within the IDDT brotherhood are very2 happy to have you guys,
to ride with us...no matter what bike you have. Even though it's a DownTube community, but personally...brand is absolutely not important for us.
In fact, most of the IDDT member also collect D#hon California, DaBike, Br*mpton, Bi#eFr*day.

For all of us at IDDT......
It's what you have inside (personality, courage, spirit, etc..) that we really2 highly appreciate,
NOT and NEVER for what you've/appear outside (brand, type of bike, etc..)

Please come, let's have fun together, there are too many great paths, beautiful nature scenery and colorful culture...here, in Indonesia.

J.P. - Those are some badazz bikes!

The way that you have dialed in Black Dotty is almost exactly how I have set up my mountain bikes, and what I have envisioned for my new folder. Very cool to get a glimpse of what's to come, and how it will change the look of the bike! I might contact you to find out some specifics of your components, in the future.

I found out the other day that the 4X4 crowd calls it "murdering" - when you switch to have the black rims, tires, everything... You murdered your bike, and it looks awesome. I'll be murdering mine - & hope it comes out a nice looking as yours!

I see some great color schemes on your Novas. Are these custom paint jobs or does Indonesia just have more color choices than the USA?

hahahahaahahah.....
thanks Keke, for the honest opinion and fact, that a customized downtube bike from one of IDDT member, back here could make your jaw dropped...hahahah.

the purple chrome nova and the green chrome 9fs belong to our fellow brother, Mr. Greggorius Jeffrey Kosasih. I'll inform him that you like the way he customized both of those downtubes.
Behalf of Mr.Gregg, thanks Keke...

Hello,

My FS-9 has suffered a lot of abuse carrying my 6ft 240lbs through and around the city of Baltimore. So, after about 600+ miles, while slowly attacking a steep hill near my home, a link snapped and got jammed into the derailleur. Lucky, I was a 10 minute walk fom home.

So, this what I ordered from Nashbar.
NA-RDM9 - NASHBAR MOUNTAIN BIKE REAR DERAILLE
NS-CN9 - NASHBAR 9 SPEED CHAIN

Both were on sale.

This is what it looks like now.

BTW even throught he chain seems short, it shifts very smooth.
Note: I have a 54t chainring with a guard made from a Corona Beer Frisbee.

Nice looking bikes.

How does the triple crank perform on them?

Might want to try asking Yan about the forks.

Hi HK 45,
warm greeting from the sunny Indonesia..hahaha
The triple cranks serve us very2 well.
Most of us use Driveline triple crank for road bikes.
The most used combination is 53T-39T-30T, the some of us use 56T-42T-30T.

We really2 need to use triple cranks, since back here we've to climb pretty extreme.
Till our knee hit our chin..hahahaha..
And the 56T is great for commuting around the town.

About the forks, well its a ZOOM fork, what can you expect from such a cheap
and economics fork...I believe Yan choose it to reduce the cost.
And the zoom fork is enough, if you use it for commuting around the city.
But here, we do love this DT and really2 use it to the maximum...
So, in order to enjoy the path that we've choose, an after market fork...is a must.

Hi cmcanulty,
on a 9FS, there are no difficulties on the placement and adjustment of the FD Triple Braze On,
most of us use Dura-ace and Tiagra. And it work smoothly on shifting the 56T.

on a Nova, you need a very specific mods - adjustment - setting for the FD Triple Braze On.
If you're using a 54T (as the max.) Tiagra have no problem, but if you use 56T you have to use the Dura-ace
and still need a li'll mods in order to shift through three of them smoothly.

For the RD, most of us use Tiagra medium cage on the Nova, and use Deore XT for the 9FS.

Has the Mini gone the way of the Dodo? I have one of the first ones and like it a lot after some much needed mods (Big Apples, Dahon head tube, upgraded bottom bracket, Brooks seat, bar ends, etc)

My friend is looking for a 16 inch folder but no Mini's to be found. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

you missed one on ebay by a couple of weeks..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Downtube-Fol...p2047675.l2557

also, SRS 16" wheel bike: kitted out with shimano sora group. the quality is probably pretty good, but the bike is covered with stupid horrible thoughtless graphics:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-SRS-XIU-...item1e6845f049

also, our fellow member dynocoaster was selling his dahon jifo. you might pm him and see if he still has it.

We are discontinuing the Origami Fox and the price is going to be much reduced to move out those that remain.

We will bring the mini back this summer without rear suspension. FYI sales have slowed since the economic crisis and the mini has always been our slowest seller....hence it was the first to get cut back.

I have a sample in the USA, however I live in the Bahamas hence it may be a while before I get pictures posted.

FYI I have been teaching at the College of the Bahamas for the past four years.

Thanks,
