I got them from directly from Velocity, for the princely sum of $148 AUS, which cost me £58 (including P+P). Bargain!
Though I did see recently that somewhere in the UK is importing full-size velocity rims, but you never know, they may also chuck in some 'proper' size rims too!

The gearing setup is a 14-28 shimano freewheel, on a Sturmey Archer hub forced into to the re-spaced rear triangle. It has seven speeds, but the smallest cog is too close to the frame to use, so I only have the option of six speeds.
The derailleur is then held on using a bolt-on hanger.
It looks a bit like this, though the freewheel has been updated since that photo. And yes, that is an XT deraileur!

It also has been receiving a lot of my obsessive modification tendencies, so it's not as though I am giving up. It's just that I am now on a different path, and still pedaling away...
I may even put the money I get towards another trike... maybe a Greenspeed... with a Rohloff... or a Speed drive... Mmmm...

Mine's got a S/A xrf 8 speed hub in Velocity 451 mm rims, less hassle than setting up a derailuer system?, just heavier.

Thanks for the rim link - they're friendly and responsive over email and have added a pair of black machined ones (mmm!) to their next order so I'm a happy bunny looking forward to that delivery!
