I've heard of two: Spa Cycles in Harrogate stock them, £490 https://www.spacycles.co.uk/products...._Folding_Bikes
And AVC in Bath, at a I-hope-that's-a-typo £659- https://foldingbikes.co.uk/xootr_swift.htm
Don't know of any other UK stockists

Ok, I just received an updated pricelist from the BF-dealer. And the prices in Euro are .

I mean, € 1500 for a NWT with some minor upgrading, is really way too high ! How is BF going to compete here with Brompton & even Birdy. Knowing this ? I think I should re-consider buying a brandnew Qaulity folder.

Xootr Swift would cost me half the price of the NWT, shipping & taxes included, but there is no way I can testride it, as there's no dealer in Belgium.

I saw £499 at https://www.foldingbikes.co.uk/xootr.htm

P.S. But I did not click on More Details where the price is different (£659)

I believe BF and Brompton may have similar philosophies if very different bicycles that have minimal overlap. The two companies could do an international joint-venture, where BF is licensed to manufacturer Bromptons in North America and Brompton is licensed to manufacture Bike Fridays (or is that Bikes Friday? ) in Europe.

Yes, buying a well-maintained pre-owned bike is an option. The only attention my wife's Brompton appeared to have received from its former owner was admiration.

Make a holiday of it: take the ferry over, ride around the English countryside for a day, and then take the ferry home with or without the bike. Maybe the British dealer will cooperate and rent you the bike for a day, rental price to be deducted from the price of the bike if you decide to buy?

Regards

Well that's your choice.
I live in Luxembourg and I bought my Xootr in the Netherlands. www.steptrading.nl where I am pretty sure you can test ride it.
I like the Xootr, it is nice to ride but I've upgraded the saddle, the bottom bracket, cranks, pedals,.... I still haven't found a front derailleur that fits.....The completly dismantled bike doesn't fit in a small suitcase (at least it needs a slighly bigger case than a BF). The brakes aren't too good. The frame makes a little bit of noise....No stem adjustment....
You can't compare it to a BF.
Although it is not visible on their website, you can test ride a BF in Trier https://www.velopoint-trier.de/index1.html
They have 3 or 4 BF (NWT, Cruseo, TIKIT) for test rides (the also carry Moulton folding bikes)

Pictures of my Xootr in Cambodia : https://www.dramaix.com

Probably the closest BF comparison would be the Swift ($700) to the Bike Friday Pocket Companion ($895).

Sounds like you should consider a trip to the States.
