Rear rack on a classic Dahon
Hello all thanks for reading.. As I have mentioned on another post I'm in the process of bringing a Dahon Classic 3 back to life. What i need to know and perhaps someone out there has an answer, mine did not come with a rear rack, and I want one, it doesn't have to be original just good, the fittings on the bike are different then any new ones I have seen and I'm at a loss..anyone have an answer?

can you give us a profile shot of the rear? we would have to see where the mounting points are, since they're a bit different from full sized bikes.

You can also try to watch some ebay bids. It's not a bad idea to get another identical one as spare parts supply if you can get it very cheap. For example this one:

AEO is right! you want to share some shots with us. There seems 2 type of frame. Maybe this will affect the rack's design in slightly different way.

sample1..jpgThis isn't my Dahon, it's in the shop for a few days having a few components overhauled. But this is identical to mine, as you can see the holes to fit the rack are on a horizontal plate

Hello Xerman,
yes indeed, an old thread again😉
But now I‘m restoring an old classic 1 and I‘m sure, that I don‘t need the rear rack.
If you are still intersted in one, send me an e-mail to
ruediger(point)vincenz(at)nord-com.net
It‘s sold!
