Options for raised rear rack for 20" Dahon/Tern?

Hello

To make an informed choice, I'd like to know what my options are to buy a raised rear rack to fit on a Dahon or Tern so that I can carry two bags in the back with enough heel clearance.

What manufacturers make that kind of rack?

For instance, I suspect Tern doesn't actually make this "Traveller Rack" and it's just an OEM product made by someone else.

Alternatively, are there good, regular rear racks that can easily be adapted to a 20" Dahon/Tern, such as this?

Thank you.

It looks like a front rack put on backwards and an aluminum strap added to it in the center. I have no idea who made it though. I have a bunch old racks and have never had problems adapting them to my folding bikes. Blackburns are on a couple of them. If the rack is for a 700c bike it will naturally be higher. Roger

DAHON originally provided raised rear rack with SPEED-TR(KC044D). I think it's perfect for DAHON/TERN folding.but I'm not sure if it has been retailed in France.

since it is an OEM product made in China/Taiwan,we local people can purchase these racks easily on Taobao.com....ÕÛµþ³µºó»õ¼Ü ´óÐÐ20´çÂÃÐÐǰºó»õ¼Ü P8 VP18SP8ÍêÃÀºó»õ¼Ü¸ß»õ¼Ü-ÌÔ±¦Íø

Thanks for the info. Any idea how much the whole thing (product + shipping) would cost?

The traveller rack has been discontinued and is not sold by Tern or Dahon anymore ( I am talking USA )
it has been replaced with the new Tern Biologic Cargo rack ..I liked the simplicity of the traveller rack, but teh Cargo rack is much stronger and more versatile

the traveller rack (front + rear) is sold for about 30 US$.
I had no idea about the overseas shipping fee. so I did some searching on the website. seens that it may cost you about 40 US$ by China Post Air Parcel to France.

It's much cheaper by surface mail but they may not support it.

It's strange that Tern doesn't sell a raised rear rack so that people can use pannier bags with no issue.

Does the Dahon Treveller Rear Rack fit Tern bikes?

Just use any conventional rack. I have used a standard rack on a few of my bikes, never the slightest problem.

They do sell one -- as Thor already said quite clearly above: Cargo Rack | Tern Folding Bike and Folding Bicycle Accessories | Worldwide .

All together now: the Tern Cargo Rack and, yes, it also fits Dahons. Shipping from Taiwan is half of what it costs to ship a normal rack from there due to the cargo rack being foldable.

TurboBob has a great review here: https://turbobobbicycleblog.wordpres...15/02/18/6709/ .

TurboBob and I like the new Tern cargo version for the spoke/fender/tire protection from floppy panniers. If someone is picky, the old style Traveller is still around from certain sources (at about $20 more): Tern Bicycles Traveller Rack, Rear .
