Hard luggage for Brompton
Can someone please post the link for the Samsonite hard luggage or equivalent that will hold a B'ton. I'm aware of B & W and other soft luggage available. I'm flying to Aruba in a few weeks. Even though I have flown with Jetblue Airways 3 times now with the B'ton in a box; they won't let me do the same for international flights. My other option is to bring the B on board as hand carry luggage as one blogger has done. But sometimes the overhead bins get full if your row doesn't get seated right away.

Bike Friday offers a Samsonite packing case option and a trailer hitch conversion tow option..
Checked luggage seems reasonable with a Hard Case..
theres the B&W hard case too https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/bandw-int...box-prod32295/
available state side too..

And, FWIW, Southwest's entire current fleet consists of variations of the Boeing 737.

Southwest's fleet shares a lot of makes and models of planes that other carriers do. What you can do is check your flight info and find out what plane you'll be boarding and then check it's specs. The Airbus 330-300, Boeing 747, Boeing 777 and other larger aircraft used for long tran-oceanic flights have good sized overheads.

Rectangular dimensions of 29.5" tall x 20" wide x 12" deep. A Brompton compatible luggage has to be squarish(is that a word?); B size - 585mm high x 545mm long x 270mm wide
23" x 21.5" x 10.6"). I've seen the B&W bag cheaper from another UK seller, but they wanted to charge US$80 shipping to the US.

The ability to tow the suitcase after landing would be a nice option. The suitsases BF sells are the same shape as most regular suitcases.

The Delsey Axiom Suiter 29 was the suitcase that fits the Brompton. Unfortunately, the Axiom Suiter is a discontinued model replaced by the Delsey Helium which has a similar profile with the Axiom Suiter. The Delsey Helium model is a bit larger than the Flite GT suitcase in some places as it's not as tapered as the GT. I own the Delsey Helium and my Dahon Mu SL fits in there where the GT Flite failed without doing some major take apart. Make sure you try before you buy. There are 2 Helium models. The one with 3 Oyster clamps is the one you want and it's bigger but it's more rare. I bought the last one in Las Vegas (South end indoor outlet mall) for $80 US -- what a deal!
Hope this helps.

The only Brompton "carry-on" report I have seen involved Southwest Airlines. Southwest's overhead bins are a bit larger than those on several other airlines. Are you certain the B would fit in the overhead bin of the plane you will be on?

counter allow you to carry it on the plane, will it pass thru security, will there be available space in the
overhead bins after everybody else went on board before you.

Yea the difference is BiFri travel bikes , is a Knock down and fold combination..
not a case .. but.. trailer wise I have a Carry-Freedom,City trailer I got for my Brommy
If there were a cross over design for the B&W design as a trailer Kit.. I offer thoughts..
the CF,C tow is at a right angle to the bike , the hitch, a ball end elastomer , fitting in a cup hitch.
(Chariot kid trailers same hitch)
the rear Brompton fold as Kickstand still works , because of the ball hitch, and the folding handle's squared bends..
CF,C cleverly folds flat, 2_ 12.5" on their own forks fold within the frame, a sling bag pops out of that space..
and the handle/tow bar folds up.
Because the Bag is a sling below the frame square, the folded up Bike can be pulled along on to of the trailer Bag.
And now back to your regularly running topic...
