[Brompton] Two-speed cogs stuck
Hello
First issue on my brand new, six-speed Brompton: While riding it this evening, the two-speed cogs are stuck.
The shifter seems to work OK, but it's stuck in the bigger cog.
Here's the video:
I don't know if it means anything but
I googled for this, but found nothing of help.
Does someone know what I could try?
Thank you.

Here's the video:
I don't know if it means anything but
- it happened a few minutes after I folded and unfolded it in the wrong order (not entirely used to the folding order yet), so I might have pulled the cables a bit too much
- I was riding in the rain; Since I bought it a couple of weeks ago, I haven't cleaned and oiled the chain yet; On another (standard) bike, the cogs had a harder time shifting when the chain was wet
I googled for this, but found nothing of help.
Does someone know what I could try?
Thank you.

Edit: I don't know if that's what it is, but while rescrewing the screw for the internal gear hub that came undone for the third time in a couple of weeks...
... I saw a small stone fall which might have been stuck in the jockey wheel:
Hopefully, it won't happen while I'm riding in the middle of nowhere.

Ok,silly question;does the 2spd shift when pedaling? Derailleurs don't work when stationary. Also,a wet/dirty chain should have no effect on shifting unless it's really gunked up with mud or snow/ice. It's quite possible that stone was the issue.
As for the hub shifter cable, you are adjusting it when it's in third, right? Might want to but a drop of blue Loctite on the threads.

for above.. 2 speed is external , a derail of the chain between the cogs ..via a fork pushing the pulley sideways ..
Yes derailing must be on a rotating drive train while moving , not stationary .
there is some adjustment inside the left lever.. that shifts the 2 speed part.
the internal 3 speed can be shifted while stopped, its a epicyclic gear scheme..
BTW 2nd, N, is where the shifter chain is adjusted, 3rd is the default gear
It goes into that one when no cable is attached ..

Yes. I did forget about that when I stopped to shoot the video, but the derailleur was stuck in the bigger sprocket.
Maybe it was indeed a bit of gunk that kept it from sliding all the way and move the chain to the smaller sprocket. 'tis strange, because, although it was raining, I was riding in the city.
I'll update the thread later if that happens again.
Thank you.

I have found that shifting on the 2-sp derailer becomes sluggish after riding in the wet repeatedly. I can normally cure it by spraying all the parts with WD-40 and blowing dirt away with compressed air.

I'll report back the next time I'm riding in that weather.

Happened again while riding in heavy rain. This was with the chain never having been removed, cleaned, reinstalled, and oiled since it was bought brand new.
Now that it's been cleaned using petroleum and re-oiled, I'll check how it goes the next time it rains.
