I've been toying with the idea of getting a GoPro (or the like) to use on my Brompton. My handlebars have no more room, so where then would be the best place to mount one. Is anyone using one of these little sport cams, and how successful is it in capturing good, but steady, video? There are three models available, would the less expensive white model suffice, or would it be best to get the silver version? I'm not concerned with using it as a still camera, just video. Any thoughts please.

In terms of video if it is for your own use fine, but there is literally millions of hours of POV cycling crap already posted to the web, as everyone seems to have one of these cameras nowadays!! This is perhaps the reason I bought one for the bike friday and have hardly used it. But if you can find a way to make it interesting they shoot excellent video. If I remember correctly the silver edition has image stabilisation and the white did not, which is essential for steady shooting on the bike, also if you think you might want a remote down the track, consider the black edition if you can get a deal on one as (at least here in australia) the remotes are super expensive to buy after the fact. Yes, you can do that. this video was captured with GOPRO HERO3.

If you have the M type bars; you can get the cross bar for it and mount stuff there too.
I have a bullet shaped Contour and prefer that shape over the squarish/blockish GoPro.
The bullet shape just makes it easy for me to mount it almost anywhere on my bike(s)

I have two cameras, a SJ1000 and a Mobius. Both are cheaper alternatives to the Go Pro.

I mount the Mobius on my helmet since it is quite light.

You can also consider the SJ4000, a popular camera but not something I know very much about yet.

Look up Techmoan on youtube. He has videos reviewing these cameras.
