Thank you Tom. I initially attributed the errors to my smartphone's connection. But I too encountered numerous and seemingly random errors. Oddly, P&R was one of the more cooperative sub-forums

Update

Yesterday morning, BF was down entirely with a database error and a message that work was being done.
So we left for Melbourne.
When we returned in the evening, things seemed to be working a bit better.
Very hard for us to tell for sure because our internet connection gets screwed up when there are a lot of tourists around ... but when all the sites we visit don't connect, we have to assume it's our internet connection and not just BF.
This morning the connection was a little bit better.
And one database error this morning.
This evening ... the tourists are gone and the connection seems even better.
