As often happens, the crown race and the fork did not play nice.

After moving, I have no hacksaw, so this cut was done with just a hacksaw blade. Worked well enough.

I didn't like this. Not as "tight" as I wanted.....

I have black on hand, but there's always shadow down there.... Note the 6700 BB. I just like it.

This stuff simply bolted on. 6800 crankset, Specialized Fact seat post, carbon saddle, stem, bars with 5800 shifters.. Garmin mount. Cygolite mount for the tail light.

I tossed wome wheels on it... wanted to see if the Garmin being red would bring out other red accents, like the Dave Scott signature. In person, it does. Not so much with a camera.

Kestrel EMS Pro fork, mounted the calipers (6800). That innicycle headset/steerer is the bomb, folks, just the bomb.

Definitely Not Your Daddy's Ironman.... maybe I'll finish tomorrow, as the FD clamp in black may be here by then.... Polished just won't work.

I'm not sure even I am ready for this setup, but the 28's actually fit. I'd definitely have to drop it to 25's, though. Just not enough clearance at all, but they spin smoothly!

I wonder if this pin is a wearable item, so they made it removable? Seems like a good way to lose an important part some day on the side of the road...

These are the '87 scheme decals. If I had edged the letters and the shades, it may have looked a bit different. That was not an option. I'm happy with the decals.

These tubeless-ready rims take some getting used to. Clinchers take about 40-50 psi to "snap in," and it happens with an alarming "crack.. Yes, the powdercoat is grey metallic.

Kind of a mix between an off-the-rack look and what I wanted. Good enough for me.

Alles kaput. It's not going to get better, or worse, but I'll ride it. Should be fun.

While the logo may not look OEM, it is. The edges of the shading and letters can't be spec'd if you go custom. Very happy with VeloCals, and very happy with the powdercoat.

Grey metallic, the color of the wheels on the powdercoat guy's truck. Wheels take some getting used to with clinchers, as you have to inflate them to 60psi to get the tires to "snap in." It's an alarming sound.

Mix of OEM and custom look, perhaps.

The lettering is OEM, but when you spec custom colors, you can lose the edging on the letters and shading.
