@ColaJacket, I have family in Raleigh, Morrisville, Charlotte, and Asheville, in NC and Columbia, Sumter, Greenville, Florence and Beaufort SC. I will probably do multiple rides in each of these states.

Yeah, I visit at least Raleigh and Columbia where my parents live every year. Sometimes I visit the others and sometimes those family members come to see me in Raleigh or Columbia.

@Jim from Boston, Thanks for the ride recomendation, it just the type of ride I prefer. A nice ride and a bit of history/sightseeing.
@Clipped_in Thanks for the link
@ColaJacket In the past I usually fly and so have not taken my bike, this March/April will be my first time driving and taking my bike. I have been to Jordan lake back in middle school and high school, but thats been a few years. My mom currently lives in WAYYYYY North Raleigh (atleast her address says she does)

…For seven years now, there have been some informal Annual Rides by subscribers to the Fifty-Plus Forum held in conjunction with organized rides…
(BTW, I’ll drop a suggestion here for an event in Boston in September, “The Hub on Wheels”:
Boston Bikes
"Join us in 2016 to bike through a car-free Storrow Drive, explore historic neighborhoods, and take in views of the Boston Harbor with thousands of other cyclists. The ride starts and finishes on City Hall Plaza in downtown Boston, with three different routes to choose from.
"The Hub on Wheels city-wide bike ride is fully supported and safe, with three routes that provide 10, 30, or 50 miles of harbor views and hidden pathways, river greenways and Boston’s wonderful and eclectic neighborhoods. Storrow Drive is completely car-free, as is the entire 10-mile route.
"You haven’t seen the Hub until you’ve seen it on two wheels!"

If you come to Boston, you might be able to check a few, if not all six New England states off your List.

@Jim from Boston according to the Boston Bikes website the only age restrictions are that you must be over 10. Though a date has not yet been set for this years ride, I hope the ride continues. It will be atleast next year before I can get to New England.
I already am looking at the Maine Lighthouse ride as a "for sure" and the New England Classic as a Possible (hits 3 states), the Civil War ride looks interesting but I really need to work on my climbing. I dont just want to ride the states, as much as possible I want to "see the country. This year I have TX (obviously), OK, AR, LA on the list "for sure" trying to squeeze in KS &/or MS, and considering doing a ride in NC while im there in April. I'm not in TOO big of a hurry with the Carolinas, b/c I visit every year and I want to do the Assault on the Carolinas one year.

I am trying to plan my organized rides for 2016. Last year i only rode in my current home state of Texas, but this year I am starting with a goal of eventually riding an organized event in the lower 48/ all 50 states. It will definately take me several years to accomplish. I am looking for suggestions either for the best events or websites for each state. I am not intrested in races, (my current average speed is 13mph). I have looked in the regional forums, but havent seen what i'm looking for. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
