It certainly will, if it fits, and everything works. Carry some spare parts, of course, and some tools. Or, a credit card.

Sometimes you can look up information on Bikepedia and see what it cost when new. There's one easy link to it there. Says it was built in 1996 as the only year it was made. MSRP was $739 so $300 is pretty pricey unless it is in pristine shape and even then might be Overpriced. 1996 Mongoose Omega - BikePedia Here's a link to exactly the same question asked in July 2011 and the answer from an actual owner. https://www.bikeforums.net/touring/74...iding-one.html The response in post #3 wasn't exactly complementary concerning component quality. If it is closer to the current Alivo level than Deore that would be a different story. I wouldn't pay $300 for a 20 year old bike with entry level components.
Very first consideration is DOES IT FIT YOU?

Wow! Thanks for the 411 on this. 20 years old is a bit out outside of box for that price. Thanks

Transcontinental? Eyelets for fenders & rack would be a requirement for me. What is the max size tire it will fit? 28 or 30mm?

Wait! What?
You just can't edit the OP removing all of your question just because you got the answer in a total of 8 posts!
