Strava Heat Map question

How often is the Strava heat map page updated? I've been riding some dirt roads in my area of rural Arkansas. Many of those roads do not show that anyone has logged a Strava ride on them. It's been a few days since I did the ride, just curious how long before that is indicated on the heat map. Thought it might be a fun project this year, to see how many of those unridden rural backroads, that I could get put on the map. I have ridden them in previous years, just not since i started using the Strava app... https://labs.strava.com/heatmap/#8/-9...7467/blue/bike

I was looking at my heatmap today and noticed there is a button there to update them. It took just a few seconds to update my heat map to the most current (hopefully) data

Once a year I think.

Keep in mind there's the Strava global heat map, and then there are personal heat maps, these are different things. OP appears to be asking about the global one.

As other said, you can update person heat maps on demand. However, I think your looking at the global (all users) heat map.

This heat map gives some details about updating, there's a detour that started last fall and it shows on the heat maps:

This one is easy to identify since the detour is routed on a highway bridge (now closed to cars) while they build a new bridge for the bike route. So prior to October, there were no riders on the bridge and now it's well traveled. So they update at least every few months.
