You have to be a ghost on the Net or you will be in there Net. Do not reply to any of these and there are many more versions. You will be Fish stew. There Pros jumping from site to site. looking for newbie’s to get booted off site. When you post ,only reply to the original question you asked.

Here's this webs site POV
https://netforbeginners.about.com/od/weirdwebculture/f/what-is-an-internet-troll.htm

The Sad Truths of Internet Trolls:
Trolls are immune to criticism and logical arguments. True trolls cannot be reasoned with, regardless of how sound your logical argument is.
Trolls do not feel remorse like you and me. They have sociopathic tendencies and accordingly, they delight in other people having hurt feelings.
Trolls consider themselves separate from the social order.
Trolls do not abide by etiquette or the rules of common courtesy.
Trolls consider themselves above social responsibility.

There is a saying "It's five o'clock somewhere." Maybe o/p should refrain from posting after 4:59pm....

it is really a simple concept, trolls and trolling are a fact of forum life...
ignoring them is the best policy to follow... when we catch them at it, we deal with it..
if they can not deal with that, they move on to the next forum...
do not have a victim mentality.

Ok, what are we talking about? If anyone reads a suspicious post/thread, simply click the red circle with an explanation point in it that's located just below your icon and personal info. That is how a suspicious thread is reported and the mods will take care of it.

Or, you can imply that everybody who gets a little overbearing is simply a "troll" or a "hater", thereby negating any need to look at your chosen stance, and possibly see that, in fact, your position is dumb. After all, it's easier to be a victim....

forums.roadbikereview.com/general-cycling-discussion/thank-you-mods-355908.html Discusses o/p's banning and sock puppets. Maybe mods here can be proactive.

I don't think they can until they see said behavior themselves... unfortunately.

However, the thread over there had a link to his profile and titled the link "Whack a troll"

So you know... that was funny.

So basically ... this guy is saying "I am going to troll you with a detailed explanation of how I am not going to troll you because i don't think you guys will figure it out until I have gotten sufficient amusement from my efforts."

I'm a moderator and its my job to explain things to noobs. And to those who are are insulting, here's a portion of the forum guidelines.
Harassment
Harassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, and denigrates another member at any time. We have zero tolerance for taking an argument about a any topic to a personal level. For instance, the use of terms such as "idiot, moron, stupid" and other derogatory terms constitutes harassment. The idea is to make this a pleasant environment to discuss cycling, not a schoolyard, or name-calling and rock-throwing festival. Repeated critical and sharply negative posts toward a forum member can also constitute harassment. This applies to all content submitted by users including posts, avatars and signatures.

Personal attacks and inflammatory behavior will not be tolerated.

Respect the forum staff. We're not here to make life harder to anyone. Any decision taken by the administrators and moderators is final and must be respected.
