10 most beautiful bikes of 2016

First, 3 of the ten are not even close to being bicycles. The "trike" with the 2 closely mounted front wheels is bizarre. 4 of the ten are electric. Selection by the BBC Autos editorial staff (what do they know about bicycle beauty.) I kinda like the utilitarian look of the Ikea bike, but the rest leave me luke-warm to cold.

They certainly are interesting. I wouldn't call any ugly, but for beauty in bicycles I don't tend to think of auto-inspired designs.

For beautiful bikes, I'm a fan of Colnago, Open Cycles' new gravel bike, and De Rosa bikes. A lot of the Ti bikes are just pretty, too. Eriksen, Moots, and Rewell stand out to me. Bianchi and especially Rivendell make great-looking steel bikes.

edit: For beauty-in-simplicity and function, Co-Motion is also hard to beat. I just enjoy looking at their bikes.

Any top 10 list that doesn't include a Volagi is wrong. We can argue about where they go on the list, but they must be ON the list.

Let's hope they know the distinction between bicycles and other products by 2017.

A list of silly "bikes" by silly, rich, young, white people, for silly, rich, white, young people...with too much time on their hands.

What the heck IS this?

A bike for someone who REALLY doesn't like the look of stem spacers? It's looks like an idiot designed it.

They're interesting and some are different but none got me excited.

Actually I thought the first one looked pretty neat, but it's not something I'd ride every day. I wouldn't want an electric motor, either. Of course it's way overpriced and fully form over function.

Some of them don't look like bikes. But the first one is cool. As an interesting part of design in my house/
