I rode just shy of 50 miles this morning with my best riding buds. The Tammany Trace is mostly shaded, so it's a welcome relief from the levee paths that I normally ride.

I don't typically track my distance but can estimate an average around abouts 25k weekly. Unless I end up going on a longer haul thats 30 kilometers round trip. Or if I ride to work some days (7.5k each way). When you have a motorbike choosing rides can be a struggle. I do less than I'd typically ride for that.

The one in the top photo is an old Coast Guard bud of mine. She got out of the Coast Guard 5 years ago and is a doctor now. We have churned out thousands of miles together. We rode RAGBRAI 2016. The one in the bottom photo is a fairly new acquaintance. I met her at the dog park about 3 months ago and struck up a conversation. At the time she was a brand new and had never ridden more than 15 miles. We did a couple 30 milers together, then a 50 mile charity ride. Today was the second longest ride of her life, and she killed it. Interestingly during our first ride together we were chatting. She mentioned her boyfriend who was a resident at a hospital in Arizona. I came to learn that her boyfriend and my friend in the top photo graduated from med school together. Small world! They are good company too.

On the 4th at the peak of the mid-day heat I had my best/fastest 10 mile ride of the year on my hybridized MTB. Given how little I've ridden this year I'm quite pleased.

10 easy miles today. I was mostly trying to adjust the rear derailleur cable on a bike where I'd replaced all of the cables recently.

Just rode the usual 10 miles today. Good exercise, but nothing special.
