Too many things going on this "Winter break". breaking down some free bikes. Also playing around with this saved from the dump Taiwan Raleigh that's almost done. Mish-mash of parts with a repaint.

All of my bikes are "Frankenstiened" bikes. But then I use quality parts for specific reasons...no Abby Normal brains for me!

Trying to sell another bike to get the funds to getting my Schwinn Prologue back on the road. It's down to fork, frame and headset. And then it will come down to deciding how I want to build it up again. Lucked out and someone was selling a NOS Dura Ace bottom bracket over on the C&V page (cranks need a 112.2 mm spindle, the old DA bottom brackets are the only ones I think that use that size). The price was right on it. I need a new stem, outer chainring, and consumables and I can build her up as I received her, but I am also playing with doing a resto mod. So many decisions...

Agreed! I'd rather ride it than be sawed in half by that chainring!

I agree that it depends on winters. Denver may no have been in the 70s last week but Monday through Wednesday, it was almost 60°F. Going back to November and December, it was quite balmy for most of the time.

However, looking back at Chicago's weather over the last month, it doesn't look all that bad either. I've ridden through worse...there ain't no seasons for bicycling as far as I'm concerned

Let's see your winter project!

I can't post pics, but I'm rebuilding a cx bike. It is currently set up on a KHS CX-200 frame with 105 kit, FSA wheels, TRP mini v brakes, with tt shifters and in-line brake levers on bullhorn handlebars.

I now have Gevenalle CX1 levers and Salsa Cowbell 3 handlebars on the way, and will change my crankset to a 1x with a narrow-wide ring. I may change the cassette if I can find something good for cheap. I am considering moving all of the parts, however, over to my Devinci Caribou II, which has a more relaxed position, more mounting points, and internal cable routing.

My last bike was stolen from my son at 4:00 in the afternoon at gunpoint in front of the reliquary. He was a high school freshman then. So I haven't ridden for a while now. I have a vespa scooter too. Anyway the wife bought herself a new bike so I need to start riding again with her, or she will never ride again. It's hot here in Houston all summer. anyway the same son got hold of a Japanese Mixte last year and I now have it. So as soon as I deliver a paying furniture project, next week, I intend to start tearing the bike down for a total rebuild. I bought new rims, tires, and Strumy Archer hubs, Drum brake/dynamo, and drum brake/5speed and strung the new spokes. I have the new Brooks seat and grips now. So in a week or so I will take the bike totally apart for paint, maybe powder coat. I'll get a before pic on here soon.
