I have ordered things from Amazon exactly twice in my life. Does that make me weird?

recently bought a wiper blade. the PKG had been opened & taped shut but the wiper blade was perfect. I just installed it & it works perfect

bought a fleece jacket size XL. received a fleece vest size SMALL hahaha. contacted the seller, they apologized, gave me a 100$ refund and told me to keep the vest and reorder the jacket. I donated the vest & ordered the jacket from a different seller

not weird but unusual if....you buy a lot of stuff online. They should only get cheaper with walmart trying to take some of their business away.

Nope. Amazon doesn't charge for return shipping on damaged/defective/incorrect orders.
You only need to pay for return shipping where items you decide you just don't want it.

I've returned several items, and it's always been a totally hassle-free experience. Far easier than returning something to a store.

Sounds like a luxury problem. Just put the damn thing on and ride it, then when you realize what a crap saddle it is return it like the last buyer did.

I buy stuff from amazon usually over other places as they're usually cheaper, have free shipping, and an easier return process. I haven't yet received any used, damaged, or otherwise not as described items, but Iv heard from friends who have. I usually only buy if its sold & shipped from amazon though I know it could still happen.

Unless its something I need right away, I always put things on my wish list and wait for the email of the price drop lol. I did wonder why the prices on some things seem to change daily, but I see now.

The only thing that's happened so far for me with amazon is when i got an email saying I was just refunded and that they received the item back...I hadn't put in for a return on that item, but I was going to that week...I was going to bring it up to them but decided to just keep the refund and give away the shifters instead.

Does Amazon deliver to the side of the road?

And would you buy your partner dinner on line instead of taking him/her out?

I'm sure Amazon will eventually have road side delivery as drone technology advances.

I'm not that bad... I take her out to dinner when I can.

Unless you want to return something ordered by someone else and shipped to you by mistake. I received a package labeled with my address, but the packing slip inside was for another person in another part of the country. They would only accept a return if I logged in to the original buyer's account for processing. Because this was impossible I ended up keeping it. The worst part is that there was no indication of any Amazon understanding of the issue despite a number of explaining emails from me.

You are not weird, just different

As my as I like to support local stores, there are numerous times they do not stock what I am shopping for. They tell me they have it online to order. Times have indeed changed.

So I go online, purchased Amazon Prime......prices are ususually the best. Returns or exchanges are easy. Oh their customer service are by far the best !!

To the OP, if you are not happy.....please return or get an exchange. If this happened to me, I will make a 'neutral' review of the seller. This will not only help future customers but the seller too in hopes that the ensure they are selling brand new merchandise as you paid for a brand new item.....

I bought this from Amazon, allegedly new:

I sent it right back. Maybe it is an Amazon Prime perk, but (a) no questions asked, and (b) they credit me as soon as UPS receives the shipment.

As a P&D driver, I service several local Amazon fulfillment centers. They look and feel like a prison inside. Their treatment of employees and outside vendors is the worst of any business I've ever experienced.

Several minutes after my last post Amazon customer service sent me a return label in response to the email I sent them.

No return problems. They will refund my money as soon as they receive the saddle.

As for the neutral review of the vendor I have been giving it some thought. I'm thinking of giving them 3 stars because the item did arrive on time. Deducting one star for the fact that it was used, another star for the crappy packaging. I wish I could give them 2.5 stars, but 1/5 stars are not an option. However, if the vendor sends me some nasty email (like one did a few months ago when I gave him a bad rating for shipping me a really rough, worn, wrinkled comic book he had listed as "new" condition -definitely not collector quality; virtually unreadable as the pages were so yellow and faded - he sent me a scathing letter bordering on a threat), then I'll lower the star rating.

IMHO, a vendor that ships a used product as new deserves ZERO stars and negative comments. For me that's fraud. Returned products are supposed to be sold as "scratch and dent" or with some disclaimer, and a full accounting of the condition.

They do this because it's a numbers game. Only a certain percentage of products will be returned, while a great majority of people either won't notice or won't bother to return it. This is how they get rid of those returns after somebody figures out their new handlebars won't fit through their stem, but scratches it up trying.

So for me, I don't care at all how quickly they shipped it or how nice their emails are. If I bought a new part and I got a used one, where I come from we call that a "scam".
