when does the TdF come back on?
Been watching it on NBCSN and all the sudden it's not coming on anymore.
Are they taking a rest?
Anyone know when it will be broadcast again?
Edit: I see now that the tour hasn't yet started, I guess paris-nice that I was watching was the qualifying.

It's not late June - July yet.

Also NBCSN is covering a lot more soccer/world football, so don't expect to see as much other sports coverage as in the past.

Giro (d'Italia) -- May
Tour de France -- July
Vuelta (Spain) -- mid August/early September
There are no "qualifiers". Paris-Nice is a one-week stage race in its own right.
However, as far as I'm concerned we are about to open the heart of the racing season (March - April): the one-day Classics. Don't care much for the Grand Tours. Milan - Sanremo this weekend; yay!

There are many cycle races during the year. You can find a list of the World Tour races here:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_UCI_World_Tour
Most of these probably won't be broadcast to you.
As you can see there are some one day races like Milan-San Remo which is on this weekend. All the way up to the three grand tours (Giro d'Italia, tdf and Vuelta a Espana) which each run for three weeks.
There are 18 World Tour teams that are automatically allowed to compete in each World Tour race. Below those teams are Professional Continental teams (2nd division if you like) and then Continental teams (3rd division).
The lower ranked teams will compete in other, lower ranked races which are not part of the World Tour.
However, World Tour race organisers can invite lower ranked teams to race in a World Tour race. For example, the tour de france has room for 4 additional teams (wildcards) on top of the 18 World Tour teams that have automatic entry. Those 4 teams come from the Professional Continental teams and are picked by the race organisers who tend to pick French teams for obvious reasons.

Fret not, NBCSN only holds the rights to the Premier League, and the season is over in mid May and doesn't start again until the end of August. No hockey that time either, no Olympics this year, no marquee F1 races, TdF should get a nice slot.

You can find a ton of races happening throughout the year, often broadcast live (in lo-fi, sadly) and mostly during USA working hours but you can watch a lot of cycing if you work in an office or have a cellphone.
Next big race (Grand Tour) is the three-week Giro d'Italia, sort of the second-in-line to the Tour. But there are a ton of other races between now and then, and several more between then and the Tour.
As far as what's on TV, you might have to pay extra for cycling ... NBCSN only offers a little for free (because they suck dead rhinos) and charge for all the exciting stages, and a lot of the races. Universal has some cycling. I'd suggest shopping for a cycling package (don't know what's available in your area.)

This is my main interest of the year starting this weekend Milan-San Remo through Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Though some stages of the Giro I also enjoy.

On this subject, what channel(s), network (cable/satellite) or stations do you all watch cycling events and races? I'm on Time Warner Cable and there doesn't appear to be any channels that carry events or races.

NBC is now show a lot of minor sport's shows on the Universal HD channel. However it's often unclear what part of a multi-event competition they are showing. It's also unclear whether it's a new show, new on Universal HD or a repeat.
Around Cleveland, some of the cable TV providers don't include Universal HD in common packages, so some of my friends missed the recent speedskating shows.

To be honest, I have a UK VPN, and generally watch online on ITV. Good for the TdF at least, not sure on the other events. If I don't watch live, they do a nice job of compacting it down into an hour highlight show, so I don't spend my entire evening watching what went on.

In the US NBC Sports "gold" offers a streaming package with significant cycling, but I think for English language Eurosport is the go-to source.

He raises a good point. IN addition to my ITV coverage, the Tour itself puts out a YouTube day summary in a half dozen languages thats 5 or so minutes long, and many of the teams do their own daily video blogs. I had a great time watching Orica Bike Exchange's channel last year, even made me a bit of a fan of them!
