Honestly, you should just abandon this thread. It's obviously not gone the way you anticipated.
And here is where you took it out of context

You're the one that needs to abandon your efforts.

This is what I'm talking about. Is this your attitude?

All I can say at this point is ..... if road cyclists are indeed A-holes, I have been pulling my weight.

Bikes: ...a few.

Something about this thread brings the a-hole side out of me.

As a road cyclist I try to be polite and considerate. There is far too much grumpiness in today's world. I dont want motorists to think all of us cyclists are jerks.

The cyclist that takes a full lane, (Which in most cases is totally reasonable and legal) then at a stop light rides to the front of the lane so every car that passed it will have to do so again. That is the guy that people hate, and deservedly so.

Hehe. That was a totally facetious comment on my part.

Agreed...but there's also the driver who goes around you then gets in front of you only to have brake hard at the stop light. You brake hard to avoid rear-ending him. Light turns green and he turns right at the intersection while I am going straight through. That is the guy I hate.

Best butthead intersection near me is a three-way with a Y---the right lane cuts off at an angle to the right (stop sign) while two lanes go straight to a three-way. So, no matter what, everyone is headed for a stop sign.

I have had people pass me on the left, fully in the oncoming lane, crossing a double yellow line, then cut back across and take the right-hand cut-off, nearly crushing me.

I have had people coming to the other side pass me 20 feet from the intersection (of course I am dead center in the lane)—again fully in the oncoming lane, and barely make it back into the lane before the sign.

People like that ... they are such A-holes I guess they should get bicycles ... and wear black spandex.

From the motorist's pov, every cyclist in front of him is a jerk. And every cyclist in a bike lane is wasting taxpayers' money.
