Which one is better.

2009 Redline Conquest Sport or 2017 Giant CONTEND 3

I inherited both these bikes from my room mates. I dont know which one to keep or ride the most. They are both my height so fitting is not a problem. I like the Redline since it can go on gravel but Giant conted is fast but a bit a little difficult. Which one would you guys prefer to ride. I want to get into shape, loose weight and start doing long distance like 30+ miles once a week.

Thanks for your time

Ride both and see which one you like best. Is there a problem with keeping both bikes? You might find different reasons to like each one, or keep them around long enough to see which one you develop a stronger preference for. The Giant is a road bike, and the Conquest is more of a cyclocross bike. So the Giant is strictly for pavement riding, the conquest can go on gravel. Ride at least an hour on each bike a few times and see which one is better.

Bikes: ...a few.

Geometry is different as well. Conquest has a more aggressive, racy geometry, IIRC. Contend is more relaxed endurance.

Bikes: 2015 Workswell 066, 2017 Workswell 093, 2014 Dawes Sheila, 1983 Cannondale 500, 1984 Raleigh Olympian, 2007 Cannondale Rize 4, 2017 Fuji Sportif 1 LE

Which one to ride the most is easy. It is whichever one you ride the most. Whichever one you grab more often when you want to go ride. Otherwise, just alternate.

And ... the one you ride the most is "better." But keep them both----of course.
