True, there is no real physical maintenance required for the wire itself but it looks a mess when covered in crap, that's my point. Also, the little sticky cable ties get full of all sorts too and they are literally impossible to clean off completely. It's just all about appearance with me I guess!

All very good points, sam. The only maintenance I hate with wired CC's is...maintaining the patience to look at them.
