Brake help?

I want to put straight bars on my road bike.So I will have to buy Shimano 3x9 shifter/brake lever combo. But all that I have seen seem to be for Vbrakes with a long pull. Can these be adjusted to work on regular road bike brakes? If you have any ideas on what to do feel free to let me know.

Don't buy a combination shifter/brake lever. Buy shift levers and separate brake levers. You'll probably need flat bar road bike shifters like Shimano Tiagra. They make brake levers for the same.
