Yep, I'll be heading out tomorrow. The temp should be about 50F when I get to the Withlacoochee Trail. The winds will be another story entirely.
The temps will be in the mid-70s by the weekend.

They are called Nor'Easters, and they do not come from the northeast. The lows that feed them typically come from the southwest and move in a northeasterly direction. Winds come out of the northeast in a counterclockwise direction. Before technology, that made it seem to people on the ground that the storm was moving out of the northeast.

Yeah, in my experience (talking USA only), if you can't live near the Pacific coast, it's best to have 2 homes for moderate year-round weather.

I like how someone thinks the storm in the northeast caused bad conditions in NC. The storm in the northeast was due in part from a low that at one point was centered around NC. Without it, there would have been no Nor'Easter.

I was a lifelong Nor'Easter myself and got tired of the winter snow and summer humidity, so I moved to Denver. 70 F, sunny, and 20% humidity for the next 4 days (as well as many, many days in the last several winter months). And somehow it's only snowed ~20" in the last 2 years I've been here. Thankfully I don't ski/board much. But don't try to move here, there's no housing left.

They are called nor'easters because when the wind comes off the Atlantic it comes out of the north east. It is a mini-cyclone. I was glad this one stayed near the coast, I still have 2 feet of snow in my hayfield.

It's a little cool here in Michigan, but otherwise sunny and pleasant. Yep, I feel for everyone getting hit by the Nor'easter. It's like a Lake-effect snow event, except that the Atlantic Ocean is bigger than all of the Great Lakes combined.
