Yep, I'll be heading out tomorrow. The temp should be about 50F when I get to the Withlacoochee Trail. The winds will be another story entirely. The temps will be in the mid-70s by the weekend.

We got a bit of it here in Western PA, but the roads are already clear and dry, and it'll be in the high 40s by the weekend -- That's riding weather for this time of year.

I'm in southern NC but all these northeasterners are killing me. It makes it cold, windy and rainy down here. This winter has sucked.

They are called Nor'Easters, and they do not come from the northeast. The lows that feed them typically come from the southwest and move in a northeasterly direction. Winds come out of the northeast in a counterclockwise direction. Before technology, that made it seem to people on the ground that the storm was moving out of the northeast.

I don't care where they come from, although I do know. The northeast is getting a winter storm, it affects my weather so I'm going to call it a northeastener.

Yeah, in my experience (talking USA only), if you can't live near the Pacific coast, it's best to have 2 homes for moderate year-round weather.

man was thinking the same thing this fall. was not into getting ready for winter at all. at least I got the pool noodles put away before the 1st snow, but only reluctantly. then when February was easy I was like: "that's it! I'm done with winter!" then we got bit in the arse multiple times in March daughter is in New Zealand running around in a bikini & Wifey is going to visit her for 10 days. I'll be home with the cats

I like how someone thinks the storm in the northeast caused bad conditions in NC. The storm in the northeast was due in part from a low that at one point was centered around NC. Without it, there would have been no Nor'Easter.

I was a lifelong Nor'Easter myself and got tired of the winter snow and summer humidity, so I moved to Denver. 70 F, sunny, and 20% humidity for the next 4 days (as well as many, many days in the last several winter months). And somehow it's only snowed ~20" in the last 2 years I've been here. Thankfully I don't ski/board much. But don't try to move here, there's no housing left.

They are called nor'easters because when the wind comes off the Atlantic it comes out of the north east. It is a mini-cyclone. I was glad this one stayed near the coast, I still have 2 feet of snow in my hayfield.

It's a little cool here in Michigan, but otherwise sunny and pleasant. Yep, I feel for everyone getting hit by the Nor'easter. It's like a Lake-effect snow event, except that the Atlantic Ocean is bigger than all of the Great Lakes combined.
