Help identifying frame
i picked this up from a yard sale at a multi-million dollar house. The owner said the frame was a custom and/or something that starts with an M like Murphy or Murray. He kept saying Murphy, but he wasn’t 100% sure.
It was worth the $50 for the wheels and to feel what a fixie is like. I’d like to know if anyone can figure out the frame make. It’s been painted over with thick neon paint, and there are no visible serial numbers.
The handle bars show a royal blue under the chipped neon paint.

Low end department store action from the 70s it looks like. Murray sounds like a good guess.
Wheelset isn't super nice but it's better than the frame.

I was thinking it was a POS frame. I saw the crap plate DOs. They were just so adamant about it being a nice bike. Lol. They wanted $100. I just told them it was worth $50 to me. Take it or leave it.
Theres no no way I paid too much. I’m going to have $50 worth of fun and sell this thing for $75 minimum. Everything is more expensive in Newport Beach (Orange County, CA).

OP will get his money back for sure - someone will pay for the paint, and for what will be an all-set-up, ready to go fixie experience with its “custom” components. That’s legit, so I say cheers to the OP!

Beautiful bike. Great job. Thanks for sharing. It may inspire me to swap these wheels over to a quality frame that fits me.

I noticed that when I adjusted them. when I got it, the brake pads were vertical. I had to do some fanangling to get them to this point. I'm a car guy who is learning the bike thing. how would I go about determining the specs for correct brakes? i.e. what are the measurement points of reference?
