Problem with my pedals...help?
I have SE draft bike single speed(coasting). When I pedal gently, the pedal kind of threw me off and its not really pedaling. It would pedal and then next thing would kind of unhook the pedal gear and then hook to pedal, and go on. But I pedal backwards(coast), it turns out fine. Only by going forward. Any idea how to fix it?
Edit: When I took the rear tire off the ground and pedal in mid-air it turns out like normal.

Sounds like the freehub (back wheel) is not engaging well.
Best to take it to a bike shop- likely for clean & lube of the back hub.

The description is kind of confusing. When you say it throws you off, do you mean your foot literally gets thrown off the pedal? Or does it just feel like there's no resistance coming from the drivetrain? Does this occur intermittently, or does it happen with the pedal revolution or does it happen on a regular basis but not at same rate as pedal rotation? How old or how many miles have been put on the bike?
Could be your chain and/or chainrings are worn and needs to be replaced
