I'm still looking for the elusive yellow road width fender of high quality. In the past 50 years I've never seen a pair. I have heard that they were made around 20 years ago and had talked to a shop employee with a pair and a store owner who used to sell them.
My best bike is a custom painted bright red, I intended from day one to put on yellow fenders to have a visible bike in the low sun, low cloud days so common over the next 5 months in western Oregon. SKS has heard my wishes but told me they cannot do yellow with the technology of their silver fenders. I currently am riding painted black SKSs but the paint chips off easily. Probably I can get epoxy in the right color but I keep wondering, should I as a consumer have to work that hard for something as practical and safe as visible fenders? It used to be that you could go to any bike store and by white fenders. Even that is hard now. I have seen exactly one white pair of Planet Bike road width fenders. That pair is on my city bike;

Aluminum needs special primers for good adhesion.
Good luck, the yellow/red combo does sound like it would both look right and achieve visibility in your area.

I think it looks great. It's a bit flashier than my normal style, but I'm getting used to positive comments from strangers.
I'm not crazy about the look of the rear fender stay mounting - halfway up the seat stays. If that's what they botched, I wouldn't feel so bag about p-clips located further down, or using the rack lugs if you won't have a rack.

Yes, it's the Tanaka fenders. The color match is perfect.

Painting the plastic fenders would require the paint to have a significant elastomer or plasticizer content in the paint to allow bending and flexing and impacts to not create chips and cracks in the paint surface which leads to water and air getting under the paint and causing flaking.. I have not seen that available in a rattle can, but it is routine for autobody shops, who use it on bumpers and airdams and spoilers made of ABS plastic or fiberglass/carbon fiber. Possibly a custom motorcycle shop could do it.

Ah, you have the solution ! There is so much "stuff" on the bike you don't even notice the fenders.

And while this bike occasionally gets aesthetic praise, and while the fenders are definitely a part of its aesthetic, I'm not sure that anybody has ever specifically commented on how great the fenders look. And certainly, people riding behind me in the rain aren't fans: those 2.1" slicks pick up a lot of water, and although the rear mudflap does a good job of protecting the person behind the person behind me, it does nothing at all for the person behind me.

1. That bag and bar tape couldn't clash any worse than they do.
2. Water bottles don't match.
3. Overall theme is black/grey/silver, right down to the saddle and (non-matching) water bottle, so the gum wall tires stick out like sore thumbs. (See Mo's bike above for the proper way to add a splash to an overall black/grey/silver scheme.)

Gotta admit I like the look of fenders on a bike. I have them on my commuters. Top one is SKS Longboards which have the best coverage, IMO, with long front splash guards. The bottom one are SKS as well, but lack a long enough splash guard. I had to DIY a set.

A black frame with silver rims is enhanced by black or silver fenders. I could see either as looking good. Like a tux with a nice stainless steel or titanium chronometer watch.
A black frame with black rims and black fenders would be fine for Batman and other devotees of flat black components and rims. But since black components and rims are not one of my favorite features, either with or without fenders, I would pass.

Over here the direct mount kickstands are pretty popular but I haven't seen one in the states or Canada so maybe it is a Canada thing. I really like them they're nice and strong and don't shake loose when you ride, it's one of the things I'm thinking about getting added to my frame since I don't have space under the chain stays.

I'm positively impressed by the design and construction, and I think they look pretty good, too. I provided my own M6 screws to take advantage of a couple of available braze-ons for mounting the rear fender.
I haven't ridden in the wet with them yet, but the Longboards provide more coverage (especially the front fender) than the ones I had been using.
