I bought these shoes for use with my toe-strap equipped pedals. The shoes are lace up with a Velcro strap at the top,. I can tuck the ends of the laces under that strap.

BEWARE of multi-velcro straps on shoes if you're using the shoes with toe-straps. The toe-strap can snag between the velcro straps even when the toe-strap is loose and you can fall.

Cheers

I do not like laces. I am not sure whether because of my back or because I'm fat, but bending over to PUT ON shoes is plenty effort for me. No laces please.

Yes, they accept the two-bolts MTB pedal cleats.

I love them as a touring shoe.

Cheers

You can also use the rubber band from a new tube to bind your laces if you needed to.

Old school shoes

Totally happy with my rat trap toe clips, but can't find decent cycling shoes. My Sidi's died recently. Don't need or want to change my 4 bikes to clipless pedals. Anyone know of a road shoe made for use with rat traps?

Your dilemma solved here Needed-Cleat Redesign FWIW, you don't need to bold your entire post. Folks can see the standard print just fine.

Thanks to all who have posted to this thread. After 30+ years of riding clipped, I too could not find replacement cleats for my Diadora shoes. Your posts really helped me decide on on Pearl Izumi laced Road Tour shoes to go with Shimano 105's on my '88 Bianchi/Campy Chorus. Now after a couple of short rides. the transition was painless to learn. The 6deg float does feel very sloppy after so many years locked in with no float. Maybe will get the red cleats soon.

Just bought a new pair of Sidi’s with their boa system. Coming from Sidi’s with Velcro much better fit. The Velcro was getting loose.

I wear DHB Dorica with laces and love them. I also have a pair of recessed Specialized MTB shoes with laces. Love those Laces look retro and you can control the tightness better than Velcro.

dyno....I looked really hard at those DHB Dorica's.
Passed on them only because of shipping and questionable sizeing.

Mine have laces and it perfectly suits my feet. No fear of dropping my shoes along the way.

I just saw those, they're really sharp. Good match for a vintage bike but I wish shoes like those had real leather uppers. Leather is pretty rare today.
