As the song goes: "what a day for a daydream"..........
Have also seen UFOs, some 60 years ago or so. Was very young, but have never forgotten it.. Our entire neighborhood saw them. Enough to cause some calls to the Army, who dismissed it as weather balloons. (But do they fly in formation and then just disappear all at once?).

Happens all the time against a headwind. I decide to make it a long ways before I look at my computer again. What feels like an hour passes, I look again. It’s been 2 minutes and I’ve traveled a tenth of a mile.
Definitely blame the aliens.

Really think most of this stuff is people misunderstanding the nature of memory. When the riding is non-eventful, you're not likely to recall any details. I find that if I'm riding a route I do routinely, I will space out thinking about other things so much that I'll suddenly realize I'm not sure whether I'm at mile 23 or mile 27 or whatever until I look down at my GPS or see a landmark of some sort. I'm fully engaged with riding safely the entire time, but I'm not really paying attention to where I am geographically or how long it's taking me to get from point to point, thus none of that gets "recorded" into memory. When I try to recall it, it will just seem like missing time. I can't be the only one who's missed an exit on the freeway while driving for the same reason, right?
