Why do many bicycle manufacturers not list the weights on their bikes?

Well Giant state that you should pop into your local Giant dealer and ask them to weigh the bike you are specifically interested in. Other major manufacturers do actually list bike weights. Do any of the others not list them? Specialized, Trek and Canyon all list weights on their websites.
Orbea does for some road bikes, but not for XC bikes.
Colnago only lists frame weights it seems. Willier only lists weights for the bits that they actually design (Frame, forks, some handlebars.)
I think a majority do not list weights still. Specialized did not in 1999, I think they did in the early 90s, not sure when they started to again post 2000.
Seems like Canyon would kinda have to, with their direct-to-consumer model.

The only thing that bike manufacturers control is the weight of the frame, and even then many bike companies farm that production out as well. added to that are component changes during a production run. Frankly, I wouldn't trust any claimed weight on a bike company's website

I noticed that C-Dale and Specialized list the weights for some bikes and not others.
