FWIW, Madone is a real word, lifted from “Col de la Madone”.

My wife told me the other day that there were pileated woodpeckers nesting in the madone tree.

I was talking about UCI legal race bikes. The Aethos was specifically designed to dip well under the UCI weight limit for recreational riders prioritising minimum weight. There would be no point in the pros racing an Aethos at the UCI weight.

I agree there is a market for super-light bikes like the Aethos. But so far, of the mainstream brands, only Specialized appear to be in that market. It remains to be seen whether or not other brands will follow their lead.

I asked him about that and apparently the World’s are due to Collide again in fall.

I’ll be sure to notify the forum when announced.

He could keep moving the goalposts indefinitely. I very much doubt a flat bar gravel bike will get the same fanfare as this new Madone.

So, you're like the cult member that doesn't question why your cult leader's end-of-the-world prediction didn't come true, and you believe him when he tells you it's been re-scheduled for later in the year.

Sure. I'll give the forum a head's up for the next seismic collision.

New bike post on a bike forum. Novel concept but I'm running with it.

No problem at all.

Enjoy Trek’s new bike and thanks for participating in the big launch !

I’m fairly certain a mashup of the FX6 Sport and Checkpoint with available e tap options is next.

True. But I prefer the alternate spelling with a space in the middle (kinda like the frame):

MAD ONE.

It’s up to interpretation whether mad meaning angry vs crazy.

Priority Bicycles just released a limited edition hot sauce. Stock up now for a spicy dip at the next Trek release party.

My biking and my mowing worlds
collided. A want from the biking universe went up against a need within that black hole which is of the mowing. I went with the want. The need will be addressed inside of two weeks, if I survive the collision of the worlds.

I make my own hot sauces. Strawberries and Serrano peppers work really nicely together. I need to whip up another batch of that, that was a crowd favorite at the shop.

Sure, but with your hot sauce, you can't feign indifference at Trek's next big launch while commenting on the irony of dipping your Beyond Meat wings in Priority Bicycle's hot sauce.

Aji amarillo, rocoto, and huacatai, it's the magic in the Peruvian chicken green sauce...

I can do whatever I wish.I also am not dipping anything in their hot sauce as I said I make my own. It was not a comment on Trek or really Priority it was a comment on hot sauce which is way better then whatever same bike Trek is releasing with a bigger logo. Heck even Texas Pete sauce is better than Trek and that stuff is meh, usable but not super flavorful.

If we want to tie it back into cycling, BTI which is a distributor in the U.S. makes some delicious salsa's including a lovely Ghost Pepper one that is quite hot. Your local shop could order it for you potentially.
