In that case, I think you have the proper attitude. And although I used "you", I was referring to the greater, at large, "you", meaning everyone, but not you specifically. There may be some forum members who are newer and might tend to take my opinion and comments seriously, but I hope I offend no one (unless they just want to feel offended). Either way is fine with me. Every now and then I might have something relevant to add; you never can tell. Earth humor is difficult to understand.

I can't help notice that, although you realise what's going on? you still feel the need to contribute to the thread, hence prolonging the agony.
Take your own advice and stop responding to the OP, otherwise it comes across as hypocritical and boring.

I feel the need to educate others. And I don’t respond seriously. I certainly don’t let “him” get under my skin.

I think we should encourage participants with "special needs". If we all chip in and do our part, it's possible the OP can grow into better occupations of his time. I predict he'll go into politics.

If it's a brake pad just barely touching the rotor, it might be because the piston isn't retracting all the way. You might remove the pads to clean them, and while you're at it, use a q-tip soaked with alcohol and clean the pistons so that any debris there will not impede the piston from retracting. You might even have to re-center the brake caliper. If that's off just a little bit, maybe not quite parallel to the rotor, that could cause a slight rub and consequent noise.

And while he is there, he can stock up on blinker fluid.

I hate to do this.
I started to have problems on my mtn bike quite similar to what the OP posted, and to say I can’t stand strange noises on my bikes would be a bit of an understatement.
So, I’ve checked more than once to see if my brakes were rubbing, having recently changed out the pads, cleaned the rotors, bedded in the new pads etc. I was pretty sure it was not a brake problem, yet the noise persisted.
So today, on my ride, it seemed worse. I thought about it, and wondered if the thru-axle was torqued down. I stopped and pulled out the tools, and sure enough, it wasn’t anywhere near torqued down to spec. So I reefed down on it, and took off again…. Noise gone.
I got home, and checked with a torque wrench. Hopefully the problem stays gone. Apparently, everything was flexing just enough to cause an occasional random light brake rub.
So Deason, there you go, that’ll probably fix your issue, if you haven’t already traded the bike in on a new one.
