Every city has laws which prohibit public nudity and indecent exposure, I wonder how these people get away with it. The worst part about it is parents and families who bring their kids and allow them to watch and witness all this filth.

Then you bring food into the mix. I just dont get it. For real. Me thinks thou doth protest too much! |
Reminds me of a friend on the last day of high school who painted himself red, wore an Indian headdress and streaked through the campus at lunchtime.
Wonder how he fared in life? |

Not 'every' city, obviously. Actually, many, maybe most, allow some form of it. I don't understand how so many people can forget ... daily, for most of their adult lives, that the normal state of the human body is nude. Clothing is the abstraction. 'Filth' is much too strong a word for the carefree and upbeat vibe of a mass nudity event. It's evidence of a locked down and unhealthy state of mind. Not judging, just observing.
Judging from the size of the crowds along the route, the event was well received as usual. Even restaurant staffers took breaks to line the sidewalks and show their support. |

This is your 2nd post saying you don't want to be around naked men - who are you trying to prove this to?
Me thinks thou doth protest too much! That’s why we can’t have nice things. |
Trying to discern the allure of rubbing your nude butt in your saddle while eating street food with a bunch of naked men.
Perplexing. But have at it if that’s your thing. It’s mainly in the city core or island, which I try to avoid anyway. |

So, how's life in the 21st Century treating you ? Also comforting to see that the "filthy" pic was removed from the thread. I was really worried that some innocent child or female person might be subjected to such a disturbing sight. |

He’s just trolling. Actually sounds like a sock puppet of YKW.

Many people won’t like it/don’t need to see it. As a non prude adult - I don’t care. As a parent of 3 kids, two girls that were once little… Hey girls, look, there is the liberty bell. Hey girls, look, there is unexpected sweaty gentlemen sausage. From the perspective of my girls - they don’t want to see that, ever. Should they have to when touring an historic city? If a homeless feller whipped out his dong in front of my girls - well, that wouldn’t end well. But a bike ride/parade makes it all OK? Two valid perspectives. |

Two valid perspectives. And it's being demonstrated on a nearly daily news that morality and laws are meaningless if the purchase price is met. A few naked people ? ? C'mon, get real . |

Not really. Even situational morality demands context and basis.

Throwing out other people’s concerns- when speaking of a very public event - is not real. Also - planning something like this, making the route go by every major tourist/historic landmark in the city - ending at the biggest tourist area of the city… The planners would have to be crazy to not expect criticism. This route was planned to make a point - have an impact. Time and a place for everything right? Perhaps chose a time and place that has less mixed company? |
I wonder that the deal is with "naked men." Me, now what I look at is the naked women. I could give a sht about the naked men. Quite obviously, the terror of . . . Pretty funny. Those who complain give it away, as usual.

I see both sides of the argument. Both have merit.

Uh, no. Every heathy young person wants to know what they don't have looks like. And most of us eventually find out. Aggressive sexuality that you cite is another story. Not the same thing at all. OTOH, I've been with the same woman for 52 years and am not tired of it. So maybe it's just me?
They flat don’t want to see it. Flat out don’t want to see it. Their opinions and feelings are not wrong. Some people will be OK with this, some won’t. Can’t simply dismiss the won’t-s. |
Heh. We actually rode right by the Liberty Bell pavilion and Independence Hall. Don’t think they were open at the time.
And keep in mind that crotches are not that visible from a side view when on a bike, especially when you’re talking lots of cyclist together on often narrow streets, |
I did Portland's a month ago. Numbers are way down from pre-COVID but still, I think there were 1-2000 of us. Fun. Felt like fewer gawkers and healthier than in during the years of the huge rides. There were kids in their dad's trailer having a great time. I'm betting they grow up with an unusual healthy attitude (for this society) around the human body.
I've always done the ride with just what I need. Cycling shoes, gloves , knee warmers and helmet. I find the idea of being dressed, even most minimally around fully naked women creepy. So all my clothes come of as soon as I am deep enough into the crowd to be out of view of the outside. Or, if I get there early, when the women start undressing. (There are always the fully naked men early at the WNBRs showing off their equipment . That's creepy.) |

This was the 16th year for the event, the route for which changes every year but always goes through parts of center city. Any negativity is obvious insignificant. |

I haven't done one of these rides yet, but I'd like to. Naked human bodies are only a big deal because we make it one. :thumb:

The naked body has never been indecent or wrong it is only wrong if you decide to sexualize it however this is a bike ride not a sexual act. The World Naked Bike Ride has absolutely nothing to do with sex or any of that. They have rules and all the ones I have seen and been too have had nothing to do with sexualization. If you are a prude maybe just keep it to yourself and don't go outside and certainly stay off the internet you don't want to know the stuff that goes on here. Humans are not born with clothes and epidermis is just a natural part of the human body along with all the appendages and orifices. |

We didn't wipe our buts on bike seats riding around and then stand around chatting and eating naked in public. We showered and dressed Small but important differences. |
