So I decided that the ToSeek bars were maybe not for me, but I couldn't resist these. FSA K-Wing. A gentleman over on PL had it. Conveniently my size, practically unused, and a great price. What's not to love ?

The FSA bars look like they have a lot of reach that they will add. Do you need that? And also a lot of drop for a bar today on a road bike.
From the thread title, I thought I was coming in here to see your new Garmin!

If you never ride the drops, there are good reasons to prefer other bar styles, though they may not matter to you.

The latest iterations of pro-level road racing bikes let riders mimic a TT bike position by grabbing the top knobs on their brake levers for 95% of the race. Many or most of those pros use bars that look like the OP's.

What I typically see - yes, my anecdotal experience- is a bunch of riders in far from optimal aero positions riding around in local group rides or when just out and about. Nor are they capable of the speeds required to see the aero gains from the aero bikes/parts being sold.
And while the OP is starting a thread to stir the pot about CF - from his screen name and this seemingly being his first leap into CF stuff - he is riding a steel frame and probably regular old wheels. So leaping into CF aero bars, while riding a steel frame, not being pro level aero body position wise (maybe the OP happens to be a flat backer???) - will gain him what, 1/16th of a MPH - maybe?

Now there's a justification for stem shifters, even moreso than a Mercier Nano.
The proportions of the frame, with a short top tube for the height, do seem to require a longer reach on the bars.
I love bullhorns, but now want wider for comfort, so get that with 58 cm flat bar with bar ends.

Y'alls so funny and don't even have a sense of humor ! How does that happen ? And how many C&V bikes don't have drop bars ? How much time do YOU spend on the drops ? And aero ? ? HAHAHAHA
The FSA bars let me use brifters on the new Ti toy and as I mentioned are cool AF. The other option was bullhorns and downtube shifters, which would have been lighter and may still happen. And it may get some Ksyrium wheels instead of the DA/CXP ones I'm building.
You wanna see the old steel just search my name. Nothing fancy but fun toys.
Have a nice day

I figure the realness of the steel is cancelling out the explodo tendencies of the carbon. Like the ghost of a long ago Italian framebuilder locked in eternal combat with plastic man.
(Comic nerds, I didn't check if there is a character named plastic man. I imagine there is, somewhere).

I've got a steel bike with carbon handlebars, fork, crank, and seatpost. I'd consider wheels but the aluminum ones I have aren't bad.
