The status of BMC
I got this from AI
As of May 2025, BMC Switzerland is undergoing significant restructuring, including cutting approximately 40 jobs worldwide (roughly a quarter of its workforce) to stabilize the company amidst a post-pandemic slump in demand, high inventory levels, and increased economic pressure. Despite these challenges, the premium, independently owned Swiss brand remains focused on high-end,, top-tier performance bikes.
Recently, I went to a big box store "Sports Basement" and certain models were 50% off list price. The model? an E bike.

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?
Any updates since early last year?
Has BMC gone direct-to-customer for any product? Or service - like special paint/build.
Sponsoring pro Teams is expensive. Now only 3, but was affiliated with 10 teams in 2020. (source = procyclingstats.com)
Lots of competition in the market.
I wonder how many employees Canyon has compared to BMC?

No insider knowledge to contribute, but a couple of questions.
Is BMC basically a front office for bicycles designed, manufactured, and assembled off-shore? or is it more?
What's the total direct employment of the company? 40 jobs sounds to me like half an automated warehouse, receiving and trans-shipping boxes as they come in. If BMC does some level of assembling and shipping, those 40 jobs become an even smaller fraction of a medium-sized corporation.
