I came across this old TDF pic from a website. Does anyone know who the rider is....there is no info on the website regarding this.

i take a total guess...charly gaul. he rode in the 50's, won in 58. tiny guy, that's why i guess gaul. looks like a climber in the pic.

Thanks for the replies, I think it is Coppi. On this webpage

About 1/2 way down there is confirmed pic of Coppi and it looks like the same person in the pic I posted earlier.

I also found this Website that has a real interesting history on the TDF.
It is great reading, I am converting all the pages to one PDF file to print and read off-line.

**** u people spending 2000 on a bike.
Im gonna get me one of those. Thats cheaper then the damn cleated pedals i have to replace cause my LBS gave me crappy products that didnt even last 4 months.
