Who here has done the MS150?
#26
I did the North Florida MS 150 ride last September, St augustine to Daytona Beach. Great Ride and the Support was great. The best Organized Ride I have ever done.
If you can do consistent 50 mile rides 2 or 3 times a week it will not be a problem for you.
Grendel . I rode for Team HP one day and Cody's challenge the Next day. That way I was able to support 2 teams.

Thanks, everybody. The MS150 sounds like a very worthwhile ride and it's good to hear about so many cool experiences. Your posts are definitely encouraging. The more I think about it, the more I am sure that I want to do this. Please keep the posts coming!
Thanks for the invite, Moose. It's cool to know that there are BF members in my area that do the Pedal to the Point. A friend of my SO is a member of a team nearby and they'd be my first choice. It would be nice to compare notes and perhaps share a ride or two though.
Since this ride has an extremely flat course (thanks, half_bent), I am tempted to do the century option (an additional 25 miles) the first day.
Is anyone else out there planning to do the Berea/Sandusky round trip ride?
Grendel: Let me know how your April ride goes. Good luck training and fundraising!
half_bent: maybe I'll see you there.

Hubby has ridden the Red River Challenge (DFW to Lake Texoma) for 7 or 8 years now and seems to love it. He's been either Silver or Gold Spokes every year.
Me, I volunteer every year. Though since I'm back on my bicycle after a long hiatus, I'm going to ride it - if not this next May then the one after that. I'll need to drop "a few" pounds before I feel comfortable riding that far, but I'm working on that too.
And since it's supposed to be 65 degrees or so tomorrow, guess who'll be out on her bicycle cranking out the miles!
I'm glad I DO NOT live in the snow belt!

I rode the 2001 Escape to the Lake (Erie) from Pittsburgh to the shores of Lake Erie in Conneaut, Ohio. Words are not likely to accurately convey the experience. It was a challenge but probably the most rewarding cycling experience I've had to date. Knowing that it helps raise awareness and funds for MS is the capper. The support, both physical and psycological was phenomenal. I rode solo that year but met many, friendly cyclists and volunteers. I missed last year due to a higher calling (deployment to Afghanistan). This year I hope my buddy will join me. Riding the MS is a choice you'll never regret.

I rode the MS tour in East TN 5 years in a row from '92 to '96. I've done the Team-in-Training rides (Santa Fe and Tahoe) the last 2 years. I'm doing the Tour de Cure and probably the MS150 again this year. One of my coworkers died with lymphoma recently (hence Team-in-Training) and I have friends with children who have MS. My own brother-in-law has diabetes (maybe I can get my sister to join me on that ride?).
