MAYBE - it's maybe, not mabey!

And as for the "cheat codes" - cycling isn't a video game where you can get cheat codes to get better. Get your fat video game ass off the couch and go take your lumps like the rest of us!

Noob, no one has given you advice, because the advice you want is not out thee. Yes I could tell you how to ride down steps, or how to hammer single track on a cross bike. or how to bunny hop pot holes at 20 mph on a road bike.BUT it wont help you. Thease skill are ones that must be learned by trail and error. If you wantt to ride like that youre going to have to take your share of spills to learn it. Ride with a local club. Ride by yourself and just ride. Dont only do it when its nice out. Ride in all types of weater ride in the rain. Ride in the snow in daylight and after dark. Thats how you learn.

All those times in school when the english teacher said to 'pay attention, there will be times later in life when your going to need to know this in order to communicate"......well this would be one of those times...

All the information your after is in little bits in 100's of threads. Better to either just start scanning every page for threads that sound interesting, or use google with bikeforums.net as one of the search terms. Works better than the board search generally.

I didn't know what to say to this one...but I couldn't pass up the chance to, at least in passing, comment on this absolute butchery of any semblance of either the King's or the President's English. (Of course, if I used our current President as the language standard to hold myself to...I shudder at the thought...)

Noob, if the replies here seem, well, terse, I think it's because the grammar and mechanics of this post were quite atrocious, even by internet board standards.

Sorry, Jarery, but I just can't resist.

Ahhh, how ironic.

Flaming someone for using poor grammar while doing so yourself.

The proper word is "you're" as in "you are".

From www.dictionary.com if you need verification beyond some person on an internet forum:

Your = "adj. The possesive form of you."
You're = "contraction of you are"

And, while not often confused with "your", I have seen it before, so I'll include it for thoroughness:

Yore = "Time long past: days of yore"

So, the moral of the story is: if you're going to flame someone for poor grammar, make sure yours is beyond reproach!

I don't agree. As long as the person flaming posts a more comprehensive message than the one being flamed he is still in the right. Looks a little foolish, but still correct.

Wow, this was great. I needed a laugh. Seriously, if you get a copy of Mountain Bike magazine they have tips on how to do some things. For example, this month they had instructions on how to do a Trackstand, The Walkaround, Rear-wheel Hop, and it had info on how to clean your bike and not mess things up. Do a search online and you will most likely find sites that have tips or instructions on how to do other special moves. Realize these are instructions on how one person does it usually. You can learn to do it that way, improve your skills, and then maybe learn to do it better or different.

Read, its the best way to learn almost anything.

As far as modding the bike... can't help you. Again, do a search online. I am sure there are ways to mod your Mt Bike. I would be careful in doing anything that might comprimise the structural integrity of the frame. I have broken a frame (friends don't let friends ride Huffy, ah the mistakes we make when we are kids) and the injuries resulting were not pleasant.

If my grammar is incorrect I am sorry. I did the best I could.

Sorry buckweat. I never talked about his spelling. Most people who post actually make a few spelling mistakes. Its common. I'm talking about being able to acually communicate effectively. And his original post is already in a 'corrected' edited state.

I've probably made a couple spelling mistakes in this post also, but guess what, i'm sure you can still read it and understand it.

His point is that if you're going to flame someone for not being perfect, your post better be perfect in every aspect.

I've got the easiest way to be really fastut the bike in it's highest gear; maybe a 53-11 or 50-12 (Sorry don't know MTB Gearing so I'll go Road). Step 2 is the best part, get on the bike a hammer away for 150 miles at 100 rpm. It's a great cheat and easy way to be fast

They had recent developments in keyboards. It's called the shift key and the period. It's pretty cool. Also there is this new fangled gizmo called the spell checker. I'm still learning about it but it actually checks you spelling! Just thought everyone would like to know.

Here is one hint, stop smoking all of that dope and the bike will go straighter. One drawback is that the bike will lose it's ability to fly and talk to you.

Just had to jump in... checks you spelling??

That being said, I must now strive never to make a spelling or grammatical error EVER!
(I had to retype that sentence 3 times and this one twice.)

(As close to a red face smiley that I could find without using the angry one.)

I said it checks your spelling not sentence structure. Besides I did say it's a new tool.
