Cycling license plates

Do you live in a state that offers "special" cycling license plates for vehicles?

Many cycling groups are talking about it here in Georgia. Someone has submitted this as a possible design. I like it.

Here is what some of our neighboring states already have for sale to motorisrs.

UGH!!! I hope we could get a better looking one than that! Still...IT IS better than nothing. By the way, it's nice to see someone else from "the 'nati" here.

One thing I've noticed on some of the actual and proposed tags is they show the cyclist riding too close to the edge of the road.
I guess sharing the road doesn't mean take the lane.

Behind the seat, just like when we were little.

Does this interfere with their rear reflector/light laws?

You may joke, but I remember as a kid in the early 1970's being amazed that in Belgium every bike had a licence plate mounted behind the saddle

No idea if they still do this

I don't think 'Share the Road' plates are going to happen here in Illinois with the Boub decision and all. But I did get these stickers for my truck. https://probicycle.com/stickers.html

Actually, Illinois has had Bike Month plates for years. The plates are good for April and May. This year's plate is particularly ugly.

Yeah, Ron, I really like that design you guys have come up with. If I lived in Georgia, and if I could drive...I'd definitely get one of those!

[/QUOTE]A whole 2 months! I suprised they don't say; not intended road users I did a search and could only find hunting under sports plates. I did see on the news that they are adding pro sport teams.

What the h3ll is that bike pulling on the Illinois plate? It looks vaguely like a manure spreader. Maybe Pokey could confirm this.....??

Bikes: Lots

Maybe it's some type of conspearacy stating that cyclists are all full of sheet!

I think the number plate would be good idea to change to perception of bikers, here in the Middle East. Right now bikers on the road are treated like bugs to be squashed. I bet the younger generation treats us (bikers) as targets in a video game. Granny on a bike 50points, road bike 100points, mountain bike 150points. Maybe registering all the bikes and having number plates would make the average kid behind the wheel realize that bikers have equal rights to cars or scooters and even more precaution, because of the lack of protection.

Hmm, behind the seat ...... That will be un-aerodynamic? It might even come loose when there is so much wind travelling at high speeds.
