I'm a paying member now.

So why do I still see the ads? I upgraded my membership yesterday. What gives? How do I go about not seeing the ads anymore? And where's my red star?

Send a PM to one of the mods, or to Joe Gardner.

Or post this over in the sub-forum "Forum Suggestions & User Assistance"

They'll take care of you and get you that shiny red star.

I think you gotta pay with real money, not the stuff you make up in your head.

Exactly right! I've learned more here than from all other sources put together. The only problems seem to be server related, and reliable servers cost money. Reliable, fast servers cost more. By the way, I never minded the ads. As long as they don't flash or bounce around, they don't hurt a thing. In fact, if they had context sensitive ads in the manner of gmail, I just might like to have them back.

Don't worry, N_C. You'll get your star. I take mine out and admire it in inclimate weather. It really brightens the day. Mine took less time, but I bypassed Paypal. That might be the issue.

$$ won't make wacky over-the-top rants and silly questions/rhetoric any more sensible.

Remember this site is a volunteer thing, it's not like Joe has an army of customer service technicians just waiting for orders.

I think it took around a week to get my star. You've been un-upgraded for almost four years, another week won't kill ya.

+1 but - just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you.

haha...good point.

But seriously, joe is really the only one who sees that side. I can do the upgrades but I do so without real proof that I can cross check. If Joe takes a week off, it will generally take a week to upgrade. If joe is on site and see the paypal receipt he will upgrade you in minutes.

I think bikeforums has far more information and less flame wars than any other site does. so anything I can do to help it along is a good thing.
