Bikes: the ever shifting stable loaded with comfortable road bikes and city and winter bikes
very interesting... cycling for transit has increased a whopping 257 PERCENT in Portland in the last 10 years.... tongue in cheek.....I wonder if the bike lanes have anything to do with that?

Jeeze, they got SUV owners to give up their cars? Either they are:
1) Seriously living in an area where the transportation system really is as good as the article says it is
2) Paid
3) Made up
Is anyone going to record that? I'd love to see it.

The pic in the article entitled, "Portland cyclists enjoy dedicated lanes - right out to the airport" shows cyclists sharing the sidewalk with pedestrians. Not my idea of cycling nirvana!

I grew up in Midland, Michigan, and ridden all over the country, and believe me, it is the closest thing to cycling nirvana for a larger city anywhere. San Diego, Davis CA, and Madison, WI, are right up there too.
