performance bikes piss me off

orderd 4 things from them and like 16 things from nashbar on thursday night and did 2 day fed ex on both of them. when i track the packages the nashbar order is on its way for delivery, but the 4 things i orderd from performance bike is still in NC, and it says that the order will be shipped on tuesday. what kinda BS is that why do i pay extra for the shipping if it does not matter and there cust. service is closed

and yes i did check, all the items were in stock

That's weird, I placed an order from them on Friday and paid for the two day shipping as well. I received a confirmation and a tracking number Friday night. Generally I'm the one that gets bad service from Performance.

When I order from performance with 2 day shipping, it usually gets to me the following day. That's assuming I get the order in early enough to ship that same day. One day from NC most of the time.

Strange. Performance owns Nashbar.

this is true, but their shipping departmants aren't likely the same as Nashbar is in West Virginia and Performance is in Chapel Hill, NC.

My first purchase took three weeks for the two day Fed Ex delivery to arrive by USPS. They use a shipping and handling charge scheme, which allows them to ship items fob destination. Which also allows them to record the sale while keeping the inventory on the books until you receive the shipment, cutting days out of the financing period and inflating the accounts. They should record a liability related to the sale until you take possession of the order to prevent inflated reports, but if they're going this far out of the way, it smells like something's cooking. In other words, Performance's accounts may benefit from late shipments.
And if they charge you sales tax, they compute it by the base list price rather than the actual transaction amount. If the discounts were post-transaction rebates, this would be legal, but they are applied pre-transaction, and charging the sales tax for an amount not exchanged at the transaction point is fraud.
Team Performance members: When you use your 10% back allowance, do they charge sales tax a second time on revenue they have already collected at a previous transaction?

It says I will be getting my order on Tuesday, exactly what I expected. That is two business days, same as yours. If you ordered it on Thursday evening it would not be shipped until Friday. First business day after that would be Monday, second business day is Tuesday. Sounds like you are getting what you paid for to me.

I don't see why you would have expected it on Saturday, how could they have shipped it on Thursday if you ordered it Thursday evening? To get it Saturday you would have had to get overnight shipping with Saturday delivery in order to have it gauranteed.

I imagine you got it from Nashbar that quick because their shipping point is only one shipping hub away from you.

I've had just the opposite problem in the past. Performance ships in a timely manner, but Nashbar can take 4-5 days just to get the stuff off their dock. Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances, I guess...

They may be cooking the books but usually if items are shipped to a residence there are no guarantees on shipping times (at least it is that way with ups). There is always fine print. If you can have it shipped to where you work.

I say you will get it Monday..............you said you ordered Thursday night. They won't even get the order til Friday and shipped out mid to end of day. They aren't a 24 hour staffed store. So really the first delivery day would be Sat. and then Monday you would get it. That is even if FedEx ground does Sat. delivery then you may get it Sat.

It will probably be there before you read this post.

Depends on your, uh, interests. I know some folks who would be pissed off -- or at least moderately disappointed -- if they weren't pissed on.

This is par for the course for Performance. I have never had a problem with Nashbar or Probikekit.

For some you have to spell it out or drop a trail of bread crumbs. I understand what the OP was asking and while if you don't order much from PB you would think you got shammed by shipping charges.

However...........if FedEx contracts out to a courier you may get a pkg. on a Sat. in that instance.
