Going to the Sun Road...

Well it's snowing enormous flakes right now... seems like the perfect time to post this
THe Going to the Sun Road in Glacier NP is closed past Avalanche Creek but it's open past the gate for bicycles and hikers. It's like a dream come true... the only thing you share the most beautiful road in the US with is the deer. I rode up just past the loop... nearly to the summit before I turned around. It's nice living 5 minutes from Glacier NP!!! Here's some pics

That's really nice! I love mountains, too bad there is none where I live.

OK, here's the plan. Pete, you go visit your parents during the week of June 28-July 5 when I will be in Aspen. I will tell Rainbabe and the other couple we will be with that I am, uh, going to run to the store. I will swing up through Estes Park, pick you up, then we will head up to ride with Doug. Think anyone will miss us for about 3 days?

HOLY CRAP - Wanna dig that knife in a little ? My lord those are some great shots. I just got back from a ride in our nations capital - spent the morning looking at the muddy, swollen potomac river.

The mountains are a lot more scenic, but now that I think about it....that means hills....hmm

Oh well, grass is always greener ..... although I really doubt you envy living 20 miles outside of DC - congestion central !!

It snowed like crazy this morning.. dry at 5:30 when taking my morning... ummm well leak, and then 2 inches of the white stuff when I finally got up at 7 LOL
The rain gear I got at Performance kept the Mrs. and I dry and warm.
You simply cannot imagine how beautiful it was... snow stuck to everything.. an absolute winter wonderland.
I may have to cowboy up in the morning and walk the bike the 2 miles to work tomorrow morning because it is REALLY coming down right now.
I'll try to get some snowy pics if it does stick..
Doug
