Computer cover

The cateye I have looks sort of nice. If I peal the clear plastic piece that covers LCD it won't be so nice in a week or so. Anything I could put over it to protect it? Such as the clear plastic pealing cover it came with, except this one will get used and peal away shortly, I need something to replace it with weekly. Something cheap.

Perhaps don't bother with this? I hate scratched things.

The plastic protectors over things like your computer look a million times worse than the computer itself with normal wear on it, even when the plastic protector is still new.

I absolutely disagree with that statement. Reason being is that I get this same thing told to me by people who don't know better. I have an 01 GT 5 speed coupe sitting underneath of cover. Those who don't know better tell me it's ugly. But it's like new when I take the cover off and drive it. All I have to do is dust it off, and it's like new. Compare that to car with dings and dents on it that needs a wash.

Nah, cover is inconspicuous. I cover it, in a year or two maybe sell it. Perhaps I get tired of covering it, then I take cover off and it's like new.

It has some bling without cover, but it won't last long.

What kind of wear are you anticipating that would damage the computer? My Sigma is about 3 years old and looks as good as new- no scratches on the screen- and I've never taken special steps to protect it.

Why is it so important to you for everything to be so pristine? maybe it's something from your reptilian brain and you didn't consciously think about it? women love dirty sex and you are all so "oh no, must keep everything clean and pristine" maybe you don't know how to give women what they really want? which means you might not have good 'dirty sex' genes, and what woman would want to mate with a man that doesn't have good genes? you must be a bad choice of mate for women..... yadda, yadda, yadda, ad-nauseum....

Re. the computer, how about some clear sticky tape? you can trim it to fit so it doesn't show, and cheap enough to replace regularly. You should be able to get a wide enough roll so that it looks even better than the original plastic cover!

That sounds like the car I saw with the "Lose weight now, ask me how. Tel xxx xxxx xxxx" weight watchers advertising on it, except that the driver was obese....

From: Take a deep breath, and ask--What would Sheldon do?

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.

You know, if you are that concerned with scratches on the cover of a tiny bike computer--how do you get through life? Wear and tear happens. It's a bike computer, not a 1913 5 cent piece, or a Saint Gaudens 1933 double eagle...if it gets scratched, get another one. They aren't going to appreciate in value just because they don't have scratches.

The thing with cover it came in vs the thing without it don't look much different. It's like the same thing, only with one you can peal the cover off.

Bikes: "Hildy", a Novara Randonee touring bike; a 16-speed Bike Friday Tikit; and a Specialized Stumpjumper frame-based built-up MTB, now serving as the kid-carrier, grocery-getter.

I mostly agree with East Hill, bike stuff is gonna get scratched and dinged, ya gotta deal with it. But... gravel mud puddles are my favorite things to bike over, so I may have a different point of view.

Unless you have a computer/GPS with a fancy screen that shows maps and pkays DVDs and washes your bike clothes. Then I could see it.

Maybe something like this, but cut down to fit a computer:

You'd need to rig some sort of handlebar clip, of course.

You could put a zip lock bag over it, secured with zip-ties. That would keep it clean and would look really sharp.
