Uh oh i have a problem!

i have been biking for about 2 months now and i am sick of it. I bike everyday on the same route..there are a lot of hills but im sick of it!!!!!!!! I want to return my bike and get my 400 dollars back! Will they accept it?

chinarider 06-14-07 08:39 PM

No. Best bet is to try & sell it used.

WheresWaldo 06-14-07 08:40 PM

uh, no!?!

vpiuva 06-14-07 08:40 PM

RyanF

Snuggles 06-14-07 08:41 PM

Give up? No way, find a new route or hook up with another rider.

coollisa1988 06-14-07 08:46 PM

noo i bike like 8 miles a day and burn like no calories...however i should be running and therefore burning more calories therefore being skinnier and richer if i return my bike!

dcbikeguy 06-14-07 08:47 PM

Dude, give it a rest.

Patriot 06-14-07 08:50 PM

OP,

If you're serious, why not try a differant route for once. The same route gets boring quick.

If all else fails, just keep the bike so you can dress up in kit once a week, and hang out at the local 7-Eleven to look cool.

One good trick for a situation like this is to just talk with the manager/owner of your LBS and explain your situation... while wearing a ski mask and pointing a machine gun at him.

Usually, if the shop is cool, they will not only accept the return, but give you back more money than you initally paid for the bike.

coollisa1988 06-14-07 08:51 PM

im serious and there are no other routes to try! i live in a small town..ive tried them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bantam 06-14-07 08:51 PM

Where the crap did you find a $400 road bike!

so this means bike shops dont accept return like clothing stores accept clothes? Its not like my bike is worn out!!!

That would be because you are not riding far enough. 8 miles is a freaking warm up.

Most bike shops will gladly give you a full refund on a used bike no questions asked. One by my house has a sign in the window "We pay full retail price for used bikes".

2Tired2Shift 06-14-07 08:57 PM

You've got to take rest days. There HAVE to be other routes. Keep the bike and mix biking and running.

7gears*3.42rings = 24 speed. RyanF math.

z415 06-14-07 08:58 PM

Ok... how do you get 24 speeds from 7 gears? 24 speeds would be 3 in the front and 8 gears in the back.

I have never seen a $400 roadie in any bike shop and I frequently visit 5 or so. Almost all bike companies have their lowest price point of bikes at around $550 to $900. $400 would usually sound like a used one or a special situation or something.

According to the calorie calculator at Bicycling.com, biking 2 hours at 20mphcan burn about 2000 calories. That is a lot of Chicken McNuggets.

I have no clue how that equates to RyanF math - I usually stick to "Mechanics" and "Mountain" forums so the whole RyanF doohickey escapes me, but I would love to have a bike with 3.42 rings.

If you're serious, you can't get a full refund on something you've used every day for 2 months. Take some time off, then ride less often but go a little farther, or get your dad to drive you to a new spot, or join a cycling club and do group rides.

If you're trolling...never mind.

coollisa1988 06-14-07 09:02 PM

i meant 8 gears!! 24 speed! and it was actually 375 dollars and it is such a good quality smooth bike.....it was actually 375 dollars! and dont tell me im lying!
