I've never been a fan of swartzbrot, but he is proving himself to be quite the politician getting his picture taken with one of the most famous athletes in the world. I pity the folks out west.

I'm still trying to figure out what's so disgusting. Is it Arnold's suit? I agree, it is a bit too light, but I wouldn't call it disgusting.

There is hardly anyone more famous than Schwarzenegger!

I like him as an actor, businessman and a sportsman!

That would be Arnold Schwarzenegger, the driving force behind convincing AM General to turn the military Humvee vehicle into a rediculous consumer status-SUV for modern highway commuting warfare.

What's interesting about this particular photo is that right at the moment it was taken I'm pretty sure Lance had just noticed Robin Williams was in the crowd and was pointing him out to Arnold.

If you have it on tape or TiVo you should be able to play it back and hear Williams calling out Lance's name from the crowd (his voice is quite distinctive) and also hear Lance telling Arnold "that's Robin Williams" or words to that effect.

well, not really. We can't always assume that. Would you be saying that if Robin Wiliams was running for governor?

I think that in some ways that is probably true, and in others it's not. In the sense that "syphoning" has a negative connotation, I think maybe not. Lance is probably eyes wide open about what is going on here, and I wouldn't doubt if he gave final approval and encouraged it. Remember, Lance is well connected, and no doubt values highly his associations with the connected. He probably sees himself more and more as part of the "in" crowd of very successful people.

Lance is a world famous athlete, philanthropist, and motivational speaker- influential enough for people like Schwarzenegger to want to associate themselves with LA. That makes him a pretty important guy to some people and maybe even to himself. He has fans, that gives him influence, and that gives him power. He may see this as using his influence to help out another very successfull person whom he may happen to like or possibly even agree with politically, not as being used by someone. In that sense, I don't think it's necessarily disgusting, just reality. We all do that on some level.

Afraid I don't find anything disgusting about it, except maybe the aforementioned suit.

Plus, the Hummer is just darned cool (except when purchased as compensation for "something else" as most people seem to do). But if I find out that Arnie had anything to do with the release of the abominable H2, I will smack his @$$ down so fast he won't be eligible for even the Minnesota governor's race. No smiley at the end of that statement. I mean it. almost
