It will be used on pavement and unpaved bike trails(nothing serious though). I'm thinking a hybrid bike is what I need. Does that sound right? How much should I be looking to spend? What is the difference between these $500(bike shop) and $200(sport authority/dicks sporting goods) bikes?

I was hoping to spend around $300 for a decent bike that will last a few years, but I am willing to spend more for something more durable that will last longer. Please help clarify what I need. Also, what is a good site to read reviews of bikes?
