This is my camping rig. Four bike Yakima rack on top of the trailer. Trailer is filled with our camping gear. Memrial Day is coming up soon. Hope Spring will arrive by then. It actually snowed in Chicago yesterday.

What trailer is that? I would be interested in looking into these.

Who makes that trailer?

I've been considering something small like that to tow behind an Impreza Wagon or something like it. I'm too much of a space cadet to put bikes on the roof of the car, and the wagon doesn't exactly have enough cargo capacity to handle week long hike-bike-backpack-float adventures.

The rack gets filled up with my wife and kids bikes. Maybe I'll take a pic with it fully loaded. I got the trailer a couple years ago from a friend of mine. I'll see if I can dig up some info on it. It didnt have much paperwork with it, not really sure where he got it. New, I think they run about $2000, so I was told. I had a Yakima and just had to buy the mounting rails that srew to the lid. The lid is predrilled for such a rack.

That's right in line with my budget. I've been looking for something just a little bigger than the trailers that typically get pulled behind motorcycles. I haven't been having much luck so I hope you come up with something. All I ever find is the large 5' wide x 8' long x 6' high type cargo trailers for contractors or hauling ATV's and motorcycles. All I want to haul is little more food, shelter, and clothing while still seating four and getting 30+ mpg.

Maybe I'll print that pic and take it down to the local RV shop too. Maybe they'll have some ideas.

The lid of the trailer is grooved and I thought about various ways of attaching bikes to it. However, the Yakima gives me peace of mind. The bikes are very secure. The best part of this set up is we store our camping gear in the trailer, which makes getting away on a weekend alot easier than trying to pack everything loose in the back of the car. Much safer as well. We can fit 2 tents, screen tent, 4 chairs, a folding table, stove and all the misc. camping gear for 4 people in there. Can you tell I want to get away and do some camping, been a long winter.
