Correct Size???
i mainly mt. bike but ive gotten an interest in road biking. im looking at two bikes on ebay right now, one being a specialized elite which is a 56. for me i think a 58 would be best since im 5'11
would getting a 56 be ok? if not would changing the stem, bar, etc help at all or is it just a no go?

It depends on your inseam length... go online if you need guides fitting your bicycle. What you need is your standover height... it should be one inch shorter than your inseam.
However, 2cm difference isn't major, and you're going smaller, not bigger. This just means that raising the saddle height and maybe the handlebars will help fit you better.

I am 5' 10'' and I have a 54cm bike. Measure your inseam in cm and multiply that by 0.65. This will give you a rough estimate on what size bike you should get. Ultimately it comes down to how it feels, however, when you buy online you don't get that option.
