what a whiner! "I did something insignificant and no one knows about it". Cops, fireman, teachers, nurses, veterans and veterinarians do the things all the time w/o recognition (sometimes yes, mostly no). Criminy, get a clue.

That's his point exactly. He did something that is not recognized because nobody cares. The marketplace of recognition, if you will, that should be decided by private individuals. Which he then extends to sports. And then to engineers and implying everything else.

Since the article is really about politics, it's pretty hard to talk about the actual content without crossing the line into P&R.

I assumed that was intended as humor, not as whining.
